Plinth

Plinth is a Framer template for creative studios — identity, digital experience, packaging, and creative direction work — built after seeing my earlier agency-style template perform well. Rather than exploring a new niche, this was a deliberate bet on a validated category: build a bolder, more confident version of what was already working.

Problem.

The agency-template category was already proving itself for me. The problem wasn't finding demand — it was pushing further into it with a stronger, more distinctive visual approach than what I'd built before.

Users.

Creative studios and agencies working across multiple disciplines — brand identity, digital experience, packaging, creative direction — not one narrow specialty. The breadth is intentional: unlike Atelier, which was built specifically for architecture-based agencies, Plinth is designed to hold photography, interior design, brand design, product design, or any visually strong creative practice.

Key Decisions.

The core typographic principle is oversized headings paired with very small, still-legible body text. This does three things at once: it creates a strong, confident first impression; it's easier to maintain long-term since only a handful of places actually need heading treatment; and the size contrast makes the small text easier to read carefully, rather than skimmed past. I also used full stops deliberately as a typographic device to create visual distinction and rhythm between elements, and leaned heavily on visuals throughout rather than relying on copy to carry the page.

The other structural addition is the Journal section — a CMS-driven blog, which none of my earlier templates included. Agencies in this category are constantly competing to explain what actually makes them different, and a Journal gives them a real place to do that. It also serves SEO, which most single-page portfolio-style templates ignore entirely.

Tradeoffs.

Like Atelier, this template leans heavily on visual strength — an agency without strong photography, identity, or product work to show would struggle to fill it convincingly. The difference is scope: Atelier was built narrowly for architecture-based agencies, which made that weakness more limiting. Plinth is broader by design, so an agency has more ways to fill the space convincingly — photography, interior design, brand design, product design — rather than being boxed into one discipline the way Atelier was.
